Coburg Village Breaks Ground for Expansion Apartments: Nearly 70% Reserved
Coburg Village, a 55+ rental community located at One Coburg Village Way in Rexford, New York, broke ground for expansion apartments on September 26th. The expansion includes 78 new large apartments with screened-in porches and balconies, open kitchens with breakfast bars, walk-in closets and side-by-side washers and dryers. In addition, the community areas will be updated and expanding with a new bistro, fitness center, art studio, chapel and large auditorium. Coburg Village, which is a part of The Lutheran Care Network, currently has 210 apartments and cottages and is 98 percent reserved with occasional availability.
‘Moving heaven and earth’
During the groundbreaking ceremony for Coburg Village Retirement Community expansion are: (left to right) Pastor Arthur Downing, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod; Kathryn Welden-Pinney, Executive Director, Coburg Village; George Ives, President of Resident Council; Bob Reilly, NY State Assemblyman, District 109; Mark Streb, Governor Cuomo’s Regional Representative for the Capital District; Frank Tripodi, President & CEO, The Lutheran Care Network.
“We are delighted that the response to Coburg Village has been so positive. The 250 jobs created by this project is also an extraordinary accomplishment in such challenging economic times and a very important stimulus for the local community,” said The Lutheran Care Network President and CEO Frank Tripodi.
Coburg Village Executive Director Kathryn Welden-Pinney concurs: “The fact that we are almost 70 percent reserved shows how enthusiastic the area has been and how much demand there is for this very unique and vibrant rental retirement community.”
In attendance at the groundbreaking were Mark Streb, Governor Cuomo’s Regional Representative for the Capital District and Bob Reilly, NY State Assemblyman, District 109. They joined the current and future Coburg Village residents and their families. Present were also Coburg Village Executive Director Kathy Pinney, Lutheran Care Network President and CEO Frank Tripodi, representatives from LeCesse Construction (general contractor for the project), RLPS Architects, and The Lutheran Care Network development team.
Opening of Coburg Village expansion apartments is planned for early fall 2012.
