Assemblyman Jim Tedisco, R-Glenville, presents a New York State Assembly citation to retired pediatrician and Clifton Park resident Dr. Dominick Mele on the occasion of the physician’s 100th birthday. Mele, a resident of Coburg Village in Clifton Park, was a longtime pediatrician in Schenectady and was Tedisco’s pediatrician growing up. A graduate of Union College and Albany Medical College, Mele worked with the Well Baby Clinic and cared for many low-income patients in addition to having his own practice. A World War II veteran, Mele was married to his beloved late wife, Alma, for nearly 60 years. They became the proud parents of John, Paul and Ann Mele.
