Honoring Residents Who Served Our Country

Throughout the years, Coburg Village has had the privilege to be called home by countless men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Traditionally, each Veteran’s Day, our residents and staff honor those who served with a ceremony which includes presentations, patriotic music, and refreshments.

Like many social gatherings in 2020, COVID-19 prevented Coburg Village from holding its annual Veteran’s Day event. It didn’t, however, stop activities director, Tracey Kubis, and Lorraine Wojtowski from finding a special way to honor our veterans.

In mid-January 2021, Coburg Village unveiled its new Wall of Honor paying tribute to current residents who served in our Armed Forces. The wall, located in the common area closest to the Village Bistro, features photos of more than 60 former service men and women who currently reside at our community.  The center of the display features an American flag which flew over the United States Capitol.

We extend a special thank you to Lucky Palmer, a former Marine and retired teacher, who volunteered his time to help construct the wall and bring our vision to reality.

At Coburg Village, we feel blessed and honored to serve those who served our Country. Thank you.
